Mahagenco has blamed WCL for supplying inferior quality of coal to it. A division bench comprising justice Bhushan Gavai and justice CV Bhadang have asked Mahagenco to file a reply, and fixed the final hearing in the case on April 30. In his PIL, petitioner Anil Wadpalliwar through Shrirang Bhandarkar contended that due to the ongoing tussle between WCL and Mahagenco, all consumers are unnecessarily forced to shell out more for power supply. He also claimed that steep hike in generation cost is because of short supply of domestic coal and import of costly coal by power utilities.
