Gamesa has been the lowest bidder in a 500 MW solar power plant tender for Neyveli Lignite Corporation. The wind turbine manufacturer is set to bag a contract for building a 100 MW solar plant at present, while bidders for the other 400 MW will be asked to match Gamesa's prices, failing which Gamesa's contract could be for a higher capacity.

India's first, Wind Solar Hybrid Power project, an integrated project of both solar and wind energy, is taking shape in Anantapur. The Andhra Pradesh state government recently released a draft of Wind Solar Hybrid Power Policy, which is also first in the country to leverage infrastructure and clean energy. Andhra Pradesh had signed an MoU with Suzlon Energy group for the wind energy projects.
