Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), announced the synchronisation of its 15 MW solar plant at Belampally in Telangana, thereby starting its commercial operations. The project had been won by the company in the Phase 1 bidding process in Telangana, and its commissioning is in keeping with the conditions and time lines in the PPA.

Schneider Electric India announced that it has powered more than 2 GW of solar capacity in India through its inverters, transformers and other medium voltage equipment and expects to achieve 2.5 GW (including 500 MW solar) by March 2017. This means that of the country's cumulative solar capacity of 10 GW, 20 per cent is flowing through Schneider Electric's equipment. Schneider Electric Solar's presence in the sector has grown over 50 per cent in the last one year.
