Reliance Industries (RIL) has entered into a global partnership agreement with GE to enter in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) space by building joint applications on the latter´s Predix platform.

No power producer has got in touch with state-owned CIL for supply of imported coal for plants in the current fiscal, Parliament was informed. ´No thermal power plant/coal company has approached CIL for supply of imported coal for 2016-17,´ Minister of State for Coal, Power, Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goyal said in a reply to Lok Sabha.

Tangedco is set to stop importing coal for all thermal units in the state. With the stoppage of import, the discom will save at least Rs.400 crore per annum. This follows after the Centre agreed to increase the coal allocated to Tangedco thermal units.

The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) has commissioned its first 10 MW solar project at Panipat Thermal Power Station. The solar plant, on its first day, generated nearly 10,000 units. The project was awarded in May 2016, to Sterling and Wilson Pvt. Ltd who commissioned in 36 days prior to its scheduled date.

Rays Power Infra has commissioned a 5.75 MW solar PV project in Telangana, which was awarded by Earth Solar. The project execution commenced within seven months of its inception. It was executed by Rays Power Infra on turnkey basis, right from land acquisition till commissioning.

Sonthalia Group is likely to set up a dual 600 MW solar power park and Special Economic Zone over a 1,250 hectare barren land in Odisha on a long-term lease for 35 years. The Kolkata-based company will invest a total of Rs.400 crore on the project which will consist of a 220/440 kV pooling station for evacuation of power from the solar park.

Around 22 million tonnes of coal linkages have been auctioned till October in the ongoing fiscal for the non-regulated sector.

Reliance Industries has slapped an arbitration notice on the government over a demand $1.55 billion demand made on it for ´unfairly enriching´ by producing natural gas belonging to ONGC, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.
