GoI, in line with National Cyber Security Policy 2013, has created sectoral Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to mitigate cyber security threats in power systems.

Government of India has formulated a 'Solar Energy Scheme', to provide incentives and concessions to loom weavers to utilise solar energy to increase production and for the development of the powerloom sector, Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Textiles said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, in a written reply in Lok Sabha informed that inter regional transmission corridors (IRTC) are planned and implemented for transfer of power from surplus states/regions to deficit states/regions on short term basis, subject to availability of margins in these lines.

A 5 MW waste-to-energy (WTE) plant will be set up in Greater Noida's Astoli village in the next two years, Deepak Agarwal, CEO, Noida Authority, said. The WTE, which will treat nearly 500 tonnes of waste generated by the two cities of Noida and Greater Noida per day, will be readied within 30 months after tenders are finalised.

India's first ever wind power auction has resulted in a record low wind power tariff of Rs.3.46 (US' 5.2)/kWh, just marginally higher than the record low levelised tariff of Rs.3.29 (US' 4.9)/kWh in the recent Rewa solar auction. Mytrah, Sembcorp, Inox and Ostro are the winning bidders and will be awarded 250 MW each. Successful bidders will sign 25-year PPAs with PTC India, which will sign back-to-back PPAs with discoms.

ArcelorMittal which had entered into a pact with Karnataka for setting up a 6 million tonne steel plant with a captive 750 MW power plant, may go ahead and set up a solar farm first, on land allotted to it for the proposed project.
