Amid soft demand for coal, state-owned CIL will hold long-term special forward auction for power producers with flexible lifting period of up to 3 years. ´A long-term special forward e-auction for lifting period up to three years is being launched for power producers,´ an official said.

The tariffs offered are at a record low of Rs.3/unit in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Puducherry; and Rs.5.56/unit in other states such as Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra; while Rajasthan is at Rs.5.38/unit, Haryana at Rs.5.76/unit and Punjab at Rs.6.20/unit.

Surana Solar Limited has announced that the company has won an order to supply solar modules for a value of Rs.15.4 crore for a 5 MW solar power plant in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. The order is from Aryavaan Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Surana Telecom and Power Ltd.
