The Ministry of Power cleared the 1,080 MW (4x270 MW) Bhadradri Thermal Power Project (BTPP) in Kothagudem district, Manuguru. The plant is being established with sub-critical thermal generation technology.

In a partnership with state grid operator Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (Powergrid) in a mega project worth over Rs.4,350 crore, ABB is set to deliver a transmission link that will have the capacity of 6,000 MW - the equivalent of more than six large power plants - to bring electricity to more than 80 million people.

Mitsubishi Corporation reached a basic agreement with AES Corporation and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), to develop an energy storage demonstration project in India. The project will be concentrated in the grid sectors operated by TPDDL.
