What kinds of opportunities do you foresee at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition? Have you set any particular sales target to be met from the exhibition?
Our participation in this event is not targeted towards sales. The major idea behind the participation is to attract prospects for international markets for our metering and power back-up products & solutions. We are looking for channel partners in African countries and we feel that the Middle East Electricity Exhibition is one of the best mediums to meet the right prospects. We are also looking for a platform to serve society with our reliable and quality products & solutions to establish Genus as a most trusted brand globally.
What are your strategies for this exhibition? How you will take the advantage of such a mega event? What are your expectations from this event?
Our prime objective is to meet the prospects for the international market and to convert them as valued partners to promote our business. We are showcasing our product range with innovative solutions which can cater to diverse market needs.
Which are the products that you plan to display in the exhibition? Will any energy efficient products be on show?
We are showcasing a complete range of electronic metering solutions from residential to prepayment to smart meters with communication and control capabilities. I would like to particularly mention products such as Pole mounted Smart Group Metering Solution, live functioning of Smart Street Light system, Class 0.2 Rack mounted ABT Meter and Live display of Data from BESCOM project under our exhibits. Under power back-up, we are displaying our power backup products like inverters, UPS, battery and Solar Solutions. We are moving into solar solutions, which is something that we started just a few months back. We already have inverters, solar power conditioning units, own batteries, MPPT charge control and hence it was natural for us to diversify into solar solution offerings. We are outsourcing solar panels right now but soon will be manufacturing solar panels too in one of our new facilities.
How do you assess the current energy market in the Middle East?
Energy is the foundation of infrastructure development and that´s why we feel it´s crucial for the energy sector to grow. There is no escape from it. Power infrastructure plays a crucial role by improving the standards of living. In the coming time, we are looking at a lot of things to happen in the infra and power infrastructure (sectors) worldwide. As per the World Energy Council, the energy demand will continue to increase and the pressure and challenge to develop and transform the energy system will be immense.
Did you participate last year? Please comment on the business prospects that you had garnered from the event.
Yes! It was fabulous and the global exposure was excellent. The best response came from African and Middle East markets. I am very glad that we as Genus got a very good response and that is what makes me envision and hope for a very bright future for the electrical industry. We could associate with a great set of channel partners from African markets last time and hope to replicate the success this year. We hope to foster a long term relationship with our partners and hope that the event helps us find the right people.
