SJVNL Maharashtra wind energy project starts generation

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd´s (SJVNL) maiden wind energy project in Maharashtra has started generation. "Fifteen of the 56 wind power turbines of 47.6 MW Khirvire project in Ahmednagar district have started generating energy,´ SJVNL deputy general manager Vijay Verma told IANS. The project, with an annual energy generation of 85.65 million units of electricity, would be fully commissioned by March this year, he said. For its commissioning, SJVNL has entered into an agreement with Spanish company

Greenko commissions first phase of Balavenkatpuram wind farm in India

Greenko Group has commissioned the 51.2MW first phase of the Balavenkatpuram wind farm in Anantpur District of the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Built with an investment of around Euro 40 million, the first phase features enhanced General Electric GE 1.6 XLE turbine, which has the potential to deliver around 30 per cent capacity factor in an average year.

Global technology manufacturer in wind energy, Gamesa, makes progress in India by signing a new contract to supply 46 mw of capacity to ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division, subsidiary of the Indian group ITC. The agreement calls for the installation and supply of 23 Gamesa G97-2.0 mw wind turbines at Tagguparthi, Andhra Pradesh as well as the operation and maintenance services.

Gamesa wins 46 mw wind project order from ITC in AP

ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division, an ITC group compamy, has signed an agreement with Gamesa Wind Turbines to set up a 46 mw wind power project at Tagguparthi in Andhra Pradesh. Under this contract, Gamesa would be supplying 23X2 mw turbines to ITC. The commissioning is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2014.
