Gamesa has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Indian public sector enterprise SJVN for the 47.6 mw to the wind farm in Maharastra.
The scope of the contract includes the installation of 56 Gamesa 850 kw turbines alongside a ten-year operation and maintenance award.
Commenting on the state of the Indian power sector, the Spanish company's Indian arm Gamesa India Chairman and Managing Director Ramesh Kymal remarked that currently many of the Indian states were facing acute power shortage and wind energy had the potential to meet some of the shortfall.
