Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency, has been constituted on 25th May 2001 under the Department of Energy, Government of Chhattisgarh for implementation of various schemes pertaining to Renewable Energy sources and Energy Conservation activities. It is registered under Society Act 1973 with the controlling body being Ministry of Energy, Govt. of Chhattisgarh headed by Hon'ble Chief Minister Chhattisgarh as Chairman and Principal Secretary (Energy) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). CREDA is established as the State Nodal Agency by State Govt. for development and popularization of non-conventional and renewable sources of energy. Most of the scheme like National Programme on Bio-gas Development, Solar Thermal, Solar Photo Voltaic, Remote Village Electrification and Biomass Gasifier, sponsored by Ministry of Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources (MNRE), Government of India are implemented by CREDA.
The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL), is an organization working under the purview of Energy Department, Government of Karnataka. The objectives of the KREDL are to promote renewable energy in the State and to initiate all necessary actions for Energy Conservation in the State. The KREDL works through various Governmental Agencies, Private Organizations, NGO’s and Accredited Energy Auditors.
Gujarat Energy Development Agency, one of the premier organizations and a forerunner in India has been working in the field of renewable energy development and energy conservation. GEDA is shouldering the responsibility of a state nodal agency (SNA) for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources (MoNRE) and the state designated agency (SDA) for Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
JAKEDA was set up in the year 1989 under the Department of Science and Technology, J and K Govt. It has a state level office and two regional offices, one each at Jammu and Srinagar.
As an autonomous organisation GEDA is registered under the Societies’ Registration Act 1860, and comes under the purview of Department of New and Renewable Sources of Energy, Secretariat. The Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of GEDA, which were originally conceived in 1994 and incorporated in 1995, were amended in terms of, composition of General Body, enhancement of administrative and financial powers of the Member Secretary and deletion of clauses not relevant to the present day functioning of the Agency.
IREDA is a Public Ltd Government Company established in 1987, under the administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to promote, develop and extend financial assistance for renewable energy and energy efficiency/conservation projects. IREDA is committed to maintain its position as a leading organization to provide innovative financing in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Environmental Technologies through efficient system and processes for providing total satisfaction and transparency to its customers.
Agency for Non Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) is an autonomus organisation established during 1986 under Societies Act by the Government of Kerala, now functioning under power dept with its Head Quarters at Thiruvananthapuram. The objective of the Agency is to gather and disseminate useful knowledge in various fields of Non Conventional Energy, Energy Conservation and Rural Technology, conduct studies, demonstrate, implement and support implementations of schemes and project in these fields and thereby deal with the problems arising out of the rapid depletion of conventional energy sources, update the technologies used in rural areas as well as introduce appropriate new technologies with an aim to reduce drudgery, increase production and improve quality of life. ANERT is also the Nodal Agency for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources (MNRE), Govt. of India, to carry out the Central Programmes in Kerala.
